ABOUT MY CURRENT AVATAR PHOTO
In the 1990's... I had the chance to go one a few cruises with my mother and several of her friends, in the Carribeans.
On my first cruise on the Sovereign of the Seas, I entered a costume contest (I ended up 3rd place) dressed as a powerful, magical Sorceress Enchantress as you

ALAN HIRANO
OCT. 28, 1956 - JAN. 15, 2009
Alan Hirano, had been in the music industry since he was a teenager. Performing with the likes of BB King and Vanessa Williams.
He played bass guitar in his own band; THE SAMURAI HOMEBOYS. A Santa Monica based Soul Cover Band. Alan was also skilled at doing sound for live events, and
would often be seen at Muldoon's in Newport Beach, running the soundboard for THE YOUNG DUBLINERS!
I bet him a few years ago. Samurai Homeboys then lead singer, was Carl Roberts. I met Carl through his brother, Keith Roberts, lead singer of the Young
Dubliners. My friend (Mary) and I attended many of the Samurai Homeboys gigs !! Alan was also wonderful to us. He had humor as well as talent.
Mary and I attended Alan's Funeral on February 21st. It was a beautiful service.... Filled with dignity and humor, and I am sure Alan would have loved it!
Farewell, my Samurai Warrior! You are playing bass, again, but not for us mere mortals!!

I cannot believe that 2008 has flown by! I am not overly sad that the year is over. It was not the kindest or best year for me. I am still unemployed. Nine (9) months now.

March 1st... My friend, Jacque & I went down to The Good Hurt to see Sink to See. It started out rather iffy. Jac had been ill ( a stomache virus) that practically ruined her day. However; she was able to rally herself and we headed down.
Unfortunately, she was pretty tired and ended up napping in her car.
Sink to See, with a new drummer named Josh (the 4th one since I've met them). Did a nice set. Jason said the monitors were bad onstage -- but they guys pulled it... -

Hard to believe that Turkey Day is almost here! Since my nephews are not coming home... it will be a very small gathering... my mom, my aunt & uncle, my cousin and his girlfriend (and maybe my cousin's sister), and myself.
I am still unemployed. March-April-May-June-July-Aug-Sept-Oct, and now Nov! Since my company did close. I do not qualify for Cobra, which is a bummer. I tried for insurance. But since I was diagnosed and treat for several chronic things within a five (5)... -

Its been roughly two (2) weeks ago that my body sorta sent me into a tail-spin. One really bad night and no sleep snowballed into two (2) really horrible nights. I pushed myself and ended up exhausted and mostly in bed. I've felt pretty good for less than three (3) days.
Still not up to my normal self but I am also stressed. Mom is nagging me regarding health insurance daily. My unemployment left me without. The business is no long and therefore not falling within the... -

My oldest nephew is now 24! I am shocked. Surprised! Feeling abit ancient... lol. He's on the east coast and I wish he could have spent his bday with us.
Sunday. The youngest nephew is coming over. He's about to head back east to begin a new year at college. I still can't believe it.

It is July. I have been unemployed since March. Soon to be five (5) months since I last clocked-in. I am becoming abit lazy. Wanting to sleep away the day til after noon and stay awake til the wee hours of the morn. Not good. I will have to work myself into a "normal" sleep routine and "pretend" work week to get myself back up to speed.

The company for which I spent more years than I wish to say, sold their land and building , and discovered they would need to downsize and move. The warehouse, The repair technicians, and graphic arts, was to be cut. The warehouse was condensed to our Kentucky office....and the repair work was done by an out-sourced company. I was to train my replacement, and join the ranks of the unemployed.
Of course. Being a big company, they were able to give me a severence... -

I can't believe it. November is almost over. We just celebrated Thanksgiving !!
My cousin just got divorced and returned to Calif from Ohio. Her ex-husband (now failed at 3 marriages) remains in Ohio. She had lunch with us a week before Thanksgiving since she wouldn't make the dinner (or Xmas) being that she's starting her new job. When that woman moves-on, she moves-on!
My two nephew's couldn't come out. Due many to time and money factors ... Both...
